  1. What is there to know about Student Journal BorrowingfromStanford University Libraries & Law

  2. Campus Libraries that won’t loan to Student Journals • Biology • Chemistry • Earth Sciences • Lane Medical • Charge out books on personal SU ID • Keep track of due dates and return books before overdue fines accrue. SLPR cannot pay fines accrued on your SU ID.

  3. Other journals may be using that same source. Keep thatpurplecolored slipwith article author’s name in each book. That helps get cite-check sources back on the right shelf after each use. Keep that red slip in the law books too. That redslip indicates that a book is charged out to cite-checking shelves.

  4. Stop! Keep Source Pulls on Cite-Checking Shelves Please Don’t take source-pulls away from cite-checking shelves. These books are being used by others as well. If you must take any, stop by the loan desk and have them discharged from cite-checking shelves, and charged to your SU ID please. That helps us help others who may be looking for that same source that you took home.

  5. Stop!Don’t put Books in Boxes& Don’t put Avery Labels on Book Covers please • Help other law journals staff and your friendly librarians find books on shelf. Don’t tuck them away in boxes. • Affix cites printed on avery labels on purple slips or not on book covers please.

  6. PAGING BOOKS ? • You may page books from SAL 1, 2 & 3, or Hopkins Marine Station by clicking on the “Request this item” link in the catalog record. • Use SLPR Library ID number, not yours: 2M00004803 Saves you precious time at the loan desk. No waiting for loan desk staff switching books from your ID to SLPR’s.

  7. RECALLING BOOKS? • Don’t recall from SLPR or another student journal. • Don’t recall from law faculty until you are ready to cite-check. • Don’t recall if another copy is on shelf. Email CrownCirc@lists.stanford.edu or stop by the loan desk to find out who has that book charged out.

  8. RECALLING OR PAGING BOOKS?Use “without SUNet ID” link, not “with SUNet ID”

  9. Journals, Periodicals, Short-term Loans • Photocopy from journals/periodicals/short term loans…. Campus libraries will only charge out books to you, not journals. Law library is an exception in loaning journals to cite checking shelves. • Checkout SLPR copy cards from the library first floor loan desk. • Record the ending balance on post-it notes on copy card after each use, to help the next user.
