In my opinion, citizens should not have the right to purchase and own assault weapons, except for active military personnel. Assault weapons, defined as firearms capable of full-auto fire, pose significant risks when in the hands of civilians. While hunting firearms are legal and serve legitimate purposes, assault weapons are primarily designed for military use. Although they are not the primary weapons used in crimes, they can be highly dangerous in the wrong hands. Responsible firearm ownership is essential, and the potential for misuse makes the case against civilian ownership of assault weapons strong.
