  4. Habitat and Range The wood turtle is usually found In areas like banks, and Open lands or fields. In dry seasons they are most likely To be found in swampy areas to Keep moist.

Reproduction and young • The wood turtle lays 3-20 eggs • The baby’s emerge from their eggs 60-70 days later • Hatchlings are 20-28 mm when they hatch • Require 17-18 years to reach maturity • Some females lay one clutch a year • Reproduce during the spring • Sometimes they never hatch due too raccoons, skunks, shrews, and foxes
