Accelerated Reader (AR) Program - Helping Children Develop Reading Skills

Accelerated Reader (AR) is a computer-based program that enables students to quiz on a diverse selection of books while monitoring their reading progress and comprehension levels. Through AR, students engage in various reading activities independently, aloud, or with others, followed by quizzes to assess their understanding. The program also helps identify a child's reading level using the STAR Reading Test. Students earn AR Points based on the difficulty of books read, with points ranging from 0.5 to approximately 50. AR books can be found in the school's Media Center and local public libraries. AR goals, both in terms of points and scores, are set annually, encouraging students to achieve reading milestones.
