  1. How To Fix the Problems of a Netgear Wireless Router _________________________________________________________________________________________ Did you know that you can master your router with just 3 winning tactics? A Netgear wireless router involves several devices to your Internet connection, either by Ethernet cable or wireless. If you cannot connect to the Internet, the problem can be anywhere in the chain of devices and technologies that connect your computer to the Internet. Knowing how to fix your Netgear or other wireless router is an essential part of determining where the problem is and fixing it with the adequate routerlogin.net Use these tips (given underneath) and the see the results yourself. Check the IP Configurations Click on the "Start" button and choose "Run." Type "cmd" in the text box (without the quotes) and click "OK". A command console will open. Write the following: ipconfig / all. Press "Enter." A list of numbers and other network configuration information will be displayed. Find your network adapter in the list of headers. If you use your computer wirelessly in many different places, you will have to scroll through a lot of different options to find the adapter. If you connect to the Internet using a cable, look for a header that starts with "Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection". If you connect wirelessly, look for a header that starts with "Ethernet adapter Wireless Connection". Normally you will only see an IP address displayed under a heading in each category. Power Cycle If IP address is not right Enter your IP address and the default gateway on a piece of paper or a text file. If your IP

  2. address is 0.0.0.0 or starts with 169.254, disconnect the Netgear router from its power source. Disconnect the cable or DSL modem as well. Make sure to disconnect both devices; Shutting down with your power switch may not have the same effect. Wait 20 seconds before connecting the new modem. Wait until the lights on the modem light up. Connect your Netgear wireless router again. Wait two minutes. Use "ipconfig / all" again. You should have a different IP address now. Ping the netgear router default login gateway. At the command prompt, type "ping 192.168.1.1" (replacing the default gateway address with 192.168.1.1). You should receive four responses, which will start with "Reply from" or "Request timed out". If you receive "Request timed out", disconnect the Netgear wireless router from the power source for 20 seconds and reconnect it. Wait two minutes before pinging again. If you receive "Reply from", check if the Internet connection is working again. Manage the Router’s settings Portal Open a web browser. In the address bar, type "http://192.168.1.1" (replacing your default gateway address with 192.168.1.1). This is the Netgear router login portal. Press "Enter." If you have the Netgear router protected with a password, you will be asked for a username and password. The default username of a Netgear router is "admin". When you have entered the username and password, the web browser will show you the configuration page of your Netgear wireless router. If your browser does not load a web page or requests a username and password, it is not communicating with the Netgear router. Re-check the address you entered in the address bar. If you typed it correctly, and your connection is wireless, your wireless card has a problem or your Netgear router is not sending the wireless signal correctly. Make sure your wireless card is activated (using the integrated Windows network connections applet or the third-party software that comes bundled with the wireless card). Make sure that the configuration of your connection (SSID, security type, and password or entry phrase) is correct for your network. Look at the lights of your Netgear wireless router. So these are the most advanced tactics that can help you to troubleshoot your Netgear router on the go. Moreover, you may get in touch with Netgear router support for any immediate assistance.
