  5. The Quantitative and Verbal sections of the GMAT exam follow a computer adaptive format.How does it work? The GMAT adjusts to your individual ability level, which both shortens the time it takes to complete the exam and establishes a higher level of accuracy than a fixed test. At the start of each multiple-choice section of the exam, you are presented with a question of medium difficulty. As you answer each question, the computer scores your answer and uses it—as well as your responses to any preceding questions—to determine which question to present next. Correct responses typically prompt questions of increased difficulty. Incorrect responses generally result in questions of lesser difficulty. This process will continue until you complete the section, at which point the computer will have an accurate assessment of your ability level in that subject area. In a computer-adaptive test, only one question at a time is presented. Because the computer scores each question before selecting the next one, you may not skip, return to, or change your responses to previous questions.

  8. TOEFL (Test Of English as a foriegnLanguage) The TOEFL test measures the ability of non-native English speakers to communicate in English in an academic setting. It accurately measures how well students can read, listen, speak and write in English in the college or university classroom. Test takers have up to 4 hours to complete the TOEFL iBT test. The test has 4 sections: Reading; measures the ability to understand academic reading material written in English. Listening; measures the ability to understand spoken English as it is used in colleges and universities. Speaking; measures the ability to speak English in an academic context. Writing; measures the ability to write in English in a way that is appropriate for college and university course work. The test is delivered via the Internet at secure, ETS-approved test centers. It emphasizes integrated skills and helps confirm that you are ready to communicate your ideas about what you will read and listen to in your academic courses. Integrated tasks require you to combine more than one skill. You’ll be asked to: Read, listen, and then speak in response to a question. Listen and then speak in response to a question. Read, listen, and then write in response to a question.

  9. GRE (Graduate Record Examination) Graduate programs and business schools use GRE scores to evaluate your readiness for graduate-level work. The GRE General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills that are not related to any specific field of study. The GRE revised General Test is offered on computers throughout the year in most regions of the world. Paper-based administrations are offered in areas of the world where computer-based testing is not available.The revised General Test is composed of Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning sections. In addition, an unidentified Verbal or Quantitative section that does not count toward a score may be included and may appear in any order after the Analytical Writing section. Be sure to complete all Verbal or Quantitative sections since you will not know which ones will be counted as part of your score. An identified research section that is not scored may also be included.
