Curriculum Resource Guide for Teaching Boys and GirlsSC Department of Education, Office of Public School Choice The South Carolina Department of Education, Single-Gender Initiatives serves as a resource for districts, schools, and teachers as they explore and implement single-gender classes. As such, this curriculum resource guide serves as a resource for teachers. The curriculum guides listed are from professionals who teach in single-gender classes. They are suggestions based upon their own experiences and are meant to aid other teachers. These guides should in no way be construed as exclusive to single-gender classrooms. Every classroom lesson should be evaluated by the supervising teacher as to its appropriateness for either single-gender or co-educational classrooms. The South Carolina Department of Education does not mandate or endorse any particular approach. This curriculum resource guide is a work-in-progress. As such, not all grade levels or content areas contain equal numbers of curriculum guides. Please feel free to submit your curriculum guides to the SCDE for possible inclusion in future editions.
