  1. Why Should I Complete The Gorge Walking Course With NEOA?

  2. What is involved? Gorge walking is a combination of many activities, such as: • Scrambling up and down a gorge • Jumping in pools • Sliding down slides • Traversing rock pools • Climbing waterfalls Gorge walking is suited to couples, families and larger groups. It also suits a range of different abilities because it can be adjusted to suit the needs of the groups or individuals.

  3. Why should I choose North East Outdoor Adventures to complete a gorge walking course? We have been carrying out gorge walking activities throughout the lake district for the past 20 years. As such, we have gained lots of experience and knowledge of the venues. We understand changes in water levels and have a good understanding of health and safety. North East Outdoor Adventures are also AALA licensed which means that we are authorized to instruct groups of children or young people without supervision from parents. We can completely tailor the experience to the overall requirements of your group or specific people within it. We will also tailor the experience based on weather conditions as well. Our ultimate aim is to keep the entire experience fun.

  4. Do I have a choice of venues before carrying out gorge walking? Yes! However, the type of venue that you choose largely depends on the type of experience you are looking for. The locations we use include: • Stickle Ghyll & Dungeon Ghyll in Langdale: Good for beginners, families and young children • Church Beck in Coniston: Easy and gentle to navigate. However, equally suited to adventurous groups due to the large jumps in the upper section • Stoney Croft Ghyll at Keswick: Provides a fun filled experience for groups • River Esk Ghyll: A challenging experience which includes a range of jumps and waterfall

  5. Am I suited to gorge walking? You do not need any prior experience before completing gorge walking. However, you should be prepared to be challenged and have fun. Are you looking for an extra adrenaline rush? Our gorge extreme course may be the perfect choice This course is very similar to the Gorge Walking course. Except it has one important difference. The course will begin by abseiling 70ft down a waterfall. If you would like to try this, why not select the ‘gorge extreme’ option when booking?
