Responses • Website – prior to publication • Sent information to USA today and spoke with Blake Morrison • Monitored near Wyandotte and Istrouma High School and took the MAML there • Took samples at A.L.Smith in Sterlington and met with the Mayor and the school board to report the results – invited local reporters • USA Today’s Blake Morrison did a 40 minute interview– local public radio – concerning Baton Rouge and the report • DEQ monitored in the areas around the schools in the 1st percentile • Took grab samples with Summa canisters and used our 21 ambient air monitors to complete the data • Produced a 52 page report on the results of that monitoring • In Lake Charles area, USA today reported that the compound of concern was Nickel so we used soil and water data also. • Interview with USA today yesterday • Ongoing issue
