  1. How Dogs Live, Play, and thier History Cockapoos have been known in the United States since about 1950. The earliest known dictionary reference was a 1960 OED citation [1] They have continued to get larger in popularity, and many cockapoos are now the result of breeding cockapoo to cockapoo rather than of a direct cross between a cocker spaniel and a poodle

  2. Sometimes this is true. If the breeder is breeding for 5-7 lb. yorkies they can sometimes have a puppy out of the litter that will remain small. This puppy could be a premature puppy or it could be small because of the genetics in the parents’ background. Breeders that specialize in teacups have studied the genetics and pedigrees of their stock, much like show breeders. In fact quality breeders specializing in teacups, breed for quality, health, size and temperament just like show breeders. The only difference is show breeders breed for 5-7 lb. dogs and teacup breeders breed for 2-4 lb. dogs.

  3. The hair is long and silky and lacks an undercoat. The color is pure white and although cream or light lemon ears are permissible, they are not desirable. Some individuals may have curly or woolly hair, but this is outside the standard. The Maltese growing may get curly hair.

  4. Chihuahuas are not well-suited as small children's pets because of their size, temperament, and tendency to bite when scared

  5. The Golden Retriever, with its intelligence and eager to please attitude, is one of the most best breeds in the United States according to Registration Statistics. The working ability that has made the Golden Retriever such a good hunting companion also makes him an ideal guide, assistance and search and rescue dog. The golden-colored coat is the hallmark of this versatile breed, and can range from light to dark gold.

  6. A Maltese is a small breed of dog in the toy group. The Maltese does not shed and is covered with long, silky, white fur. The Maltese breed of today is descended from dogs long associated with the island of Malta. It is one of the oldest dog breeds.

  7. The Golden Retriever is a breed of dog, historically developed as a gundog to retrieve shot waterfowl and upland game during hunting.[1] As such they were bred to have a soft mouth to retrieve game undamaged and an instinctive love of water.[2] Their nice and versatility sees them employed in a variety of roles including illegal drug detection, search and rescue, as hunting dogs and as guide dogs.[3] Its friendly, eager-to-please and patient demeanor has also made it one of the most popular family dogs (by registration) in the universe today.

  8. There characteristics include slightly rounded skulls, with a one-finger-wide dome and a black nose that is two finger widths long. The body is compact with the length equaling the height. The drop ears with long hair and very dark eyes, surrounded by darker skin pigmentation (called a "halo"), gives Maltese their expressive look. Their noses can fade and become pink or light brown in color without exposure to sun light. This is often referred to as a "winter nose"[1] and many times will become black again with increased exposure to the sun.

  9. AKC places each breed into one of seven groups or the miscellaneous class, based on the uses for which the breeds were originally developed. AKC places the Yorkshire Terrier in the toy group because of the size of the Yorkshire terrier. The breeds in the toy group were originally developed as lab puppies.

  10. For all their diminutive size, Maltese seem to be without fear. In fact, many Maltese seem indifferent to creatures and objects larger than themselves but can also be quite aggressive for their small size, which makes them very easy to socialize with other dogs, and cats.
