  3. The First Rule of Woodworking • Safety is important for all involved, and a few minutes to review the safety rules can save hours of agony. • Ensure that everyone is wearing safety glasses. • It is important to use the correct tool for the job • Use age appropriate tools!!!

  4. Where To Begin • Choose the project • There are many different sources • Scout books • The Internet • Magazines • Choose the Materials • Balsa wood • Pine • Hardwoods

  5. Tools • Safety Glasses • Hammer/ Mallets • Coping Saw • Handsaw • Needle nose Pliers • Screwdriver-Regular and Phillips • Tape Measure • Sandpaper/sanding block • Clamps • Square

  6. Holding it together • Glue • White School Glue • Wood Glue • Exterior Wood Glue • Nails • Brads • Finish nails • Screws • Coarse Thread Drywall Screws • Exterior Deck Screws • Cabinet Screws
