  3. What to do with the Watsons today • 3-2-1 • 3 characters you relate to • 2 events you relate to • 1 analysis—graphic organizer • Keep the noise level to a minimum 

  4. Pick your Character • Working in a small group, complete the graphic organizer • Share ideas, make suggestions, cite evidence from the novel • Work on your poster

  5. So…what elements bring a character to life? • Character Words • Character Thoughts • Character Actions • Character Feelings • How the Character Responds or Reacts to other Characters • What the Author Tells the Reader About the Character.

  9. Recap the Group Thinking • Recall with your group the character you chose and actions from each chapter • feelings • appearance • actions • Humor/dialogue • Character Sketch-be neat, be complete, be correct; be sure to follow directions

  10. CHARACTER TRAIT POSTER • ~Using your character pick a scene from Watsons that your character is a part of. Draw your character in the scene in the space below. • ~Around the character’s picture, you need five adjectives that describe your character in that particular scene. • ~Write 2 direct quotes from the novel that covey these character traits of the person.

  11. ~Use any of the categories from the graphic organizer to support your ideas. • ~Add illustrations, symbols, and anything else that makes your poster attractive. BE SURE TO INCLUDE THE CHARACTER’S NAME AND A CAPTION OF THE SCENE.
