Empowering Communities: The Role of a Public Health Nurse in Promoting Health

As a licensed Public Health Nurse (RN) under the State Nurse Practice Act, my mission is to enhance community health through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating public health programs. My role involves providing clinical services, such as immunizations, and conducting emergency preparedness and disease investigations. I collaborate with diverse clients and organizations to address health concerns, bringing a unique blend of nursing skills and public health expertise to empower communities and ensure evidence-based practices are at the forefront of our initiatives.

Did you know? • As a Public Health Nurse I am a licensed as RN under the State Nurse Practice Act, who works in the public health system • The foundation of my public health nursing practice is the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating daily in my work with the public – I create conditions where people can be healthy. For example, my work ….. • I am flexible, licensed, and skilled to provide clinical services, such immunizations, as well as assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating public health programs.
