What you Can do with Demo Software • Define New Generation Plants • Define New Generation Units • Add Equipment data for Generating Unit • Enter Real Time data for Generation Equipment • Query the data • Do Analysis of Generation Equipment • Quality Control Charts • Generation Unit Availability • Generate Pre defined Reports

  3. Get Started with Demo Software • Click on the Install Software link. • The software will launch the installation sheild. Follow the instructions and install the software and the required components. • The shield is automatic and will install the files at the required location • After installation goto Start>Programs>Hydro Generation>Hydro Generation. • Also install Data Updation software using the same procedure as above. • To add your plant and generation unit to database goto Start>Programs>Data Updation>Data Updation, then it will prompt for database to load. • The Hydro generation database is located in the application directory of the Hydro Generation e.g. C:\Program Files\Hydro Generation\IIMLHydroGerenartion.mdb

  4. Load Database for Demo Software Step 2 : Go to Directory where are placed files Select IIM HydroGeneration.mdb and click on open button to load the database Step 1 : Click on Open to Load the Database Step 3 : From table list Select Select GENERATING_UNIT and click on OK button

  5. Add Generation unit Step 1: From Record Menu Click on Add button to add the new Generation Unit to database Step 2: Enter the Generation Unit details and Click on Add button to save the information

  6. Define Equipment for Generation unit Step 1: Load database (explained in previous slide) from table list select TURBINE and click on OK button Step 2 : Enter the data and Click on Add button to define the equipment Repeat the same procedure for define the other equipment

Real Time data input Step 1 : Select Generating Unit data from DATA men Data Input form will be opened Step 3 Step 2 : Click on AddNew Button to add the data Step 3 : Select the Plant name and Generation Unit from Select Plant Information Window Step 4 : Enter the Relevant information in input boxes Step 5 : Click on Save button to save data

Real Time data input Step 1 : Select Water data from DATA men Data Input form will be opened Step 3 Step 2 : Click on AddNew Button to add the data Step 3 : Select the Plant name and Generation Unit from Select Plant Information Window Step 4 : Enter the Relevant information in input boxes Step 5 : Click on Save button to save data

Outages data input Step 1 : Select Water data from DATA men Data Input form will be opened Step 3 Step 2 : Click on AddNew Button to add the data Step 3 : Select Planned Outages or Forced Outages Step 4 : Select the Plant name and Generation Unit from Select Plant Information Window Step 5 : Enter the Relevant information in input boxes Step 6 : Click on Save button to save data

Real Time data input Step 1 : Select Civil Structure from DATA menu Data Input form will be opened Step 2 : Click on AddNew Button to add the data Step 3 : Select the Plant name and Generation Unit from Select Plant Information Window Step 4 : Enter the Relevant information in input boxes Step 5 : Click on Save button to save data

Real Time data input Step 1 : Select Turbine from DATA menu Data Input form will be opened Step 2 : Click on AddNew Button to add the data Step 3 : Select the Plant name and Generation Unit from Select Plant Information Window Step 4 : Enter the Relevant information in input boxes Step 5 : Click on Save button to save data

  12. Quality Control Chart Step 1 : Select Quality Control from ANALYSIS menu and then select Calculations Data Input form will be opened

Quality Control Chart Step 2 : Select Table from Select table Drop down box For example Select TURBINE_DATA Table for analysis Step 3 : Select Table Field from Select Field Drop down box For example Select PRESSURE_OF_WATER Field for analysis Step 4 : Select Date Field from Select Date Field Drop down box For example Select DATE_OF_ENTRY Field for analysis

Quality Control Chart Step 5 : Enter Sample Size For example enter 5 days Step 6 : Enter No. of Samples For example Enter 8 Samples Step 7 : Select Grouping Field For Example Select GENERATING_UNIT_NAME It Displays All Generating units for which data available in next window Step 8 : Select Desired unit and click on ADD button For example Click on Bakra 1

  15. Quality Control Chart Step 9 : Click On OK Button to perform calculations After clicking OK button Do you wish view the chart dialog will appear Select desired option Print Preview Windows will be opened with Sample values considered for calculations Close the Window after viewing the data

  16. Quality Control Chart Calculated Values will Appear in bottom window Click On Option Buttons to view the calculations

Query Tool Step 1 : Select Advanced Mode from Query Menu Select Table / Field Dialog will appear Step 2 : Select Table for Query For Example Select CIVIL_STRUCTURE on highlighting the table Fields available from table will be display in next window Check the desired fields for query by checking in the check box provided against each field Step 3 : Click on button to move next section of the wizard

Query Tool Step 3 : Select the Field for Query For Example Select GATES_FOR_SEALING on highlighting the field Data will be display in next window Step 4 : Double click on GATES_FOR_SEALING It will be appear in formula window Select desired operator for query Double click the desired Condition from Values window Press OK button the value will appear in formula window

  19. Query Tool Step 5 : Click on Submit Button to view the Query Result From File menu user can take printout of the query results

Generation Unit Availability Step 1 : Select Generation Scheduling from Analysis Menu and select Generation Unit availability Dialog will appear Step 2 : Select Plant and generation unit Enter Time and date for which you want to check generation unit availability Click on OK button Message box will appear with the status of Generation Unit When Generation Unit is not available then click on show Outages button to view the Planned outages

  21. Reports Step 1 : Select Generation Scheduling from Analysis Menu and select Generation Unit availability Select the desired Report

Reports Step 2 : Select Plant and Generation unit To view all plants click on All in plant name window To view all generation units of plant click on all in Generating unit window To view Plant wise Reports check the Group by plant information To view generating Unit wise Reports check the Group by Generating Unit information Select the frequency of report from drop down box and check the check provided under drop down box

Generation Unit Availability Step 1 : Select Generation Scheduling from Analysis Menu and select Generation Unit availability Dialog will appear Step 2 : Select Plant and generation unit Enter Time and date for which you want to check generation unit availability Click on OK button Message box will appear with the status of Generation Unit When Generation Unit is not available then click on show Outages button to view the Planned outages
