  2. CARACTERÍSTICAS DE LA INDEPENDENCIA • Los movimientos de independencia se dan simultáneamente en todo el continente. No hubo una, sino, muchas guerras de independencia. • Los movimientos de independencia se dieron en las ciudades y fueron protagonizados por la élite criolla, salvo en México y Uruguay donde participó el pueblo. • Se consiguió la independencia política de España, pero no se transformó la estructura económica – social.
