  1. The most defining moments in Finland

  2. Monday the 27 of April 2009: It was an important moment in my life: indeed, it wasthe first time I travelled in a big plane. Previously, I had already flown in a small plane but never with a big company like Scandinavian Airlines ! My second prefer moment, this Monday, was when the plane has landed at Helsinki airport. It was very exciting because some of pupils inside were afraid of flying. After that, when all of French group were in Oulu, I was surprised to see all of Finnish pupils were there to greet us with their placards and their t-shirts. We were quite shy in this moment but it was very nice. About midnight, one of the most important moment arrived when I have discovered the house and the family. Tuesday the 28 of April: At 9.00 am, for this first real day in Finland, we visited Finnish students high school: “Raahen lukio”. And at 11 am, we were very surprised to discover that Finnish people eat at that time! No one in French students wanted to eat but someone said:”We are in Finland so we must do like Finnish !”. Everybody agreed. We discovered their food: there are many mixtures, it was different but good !

  3. Wednesday the 29 of April: I remember this event too: we visited the “Merikatu secondary school” where some French students learn. Thanks to this visit, I have learned we can study in a stranger country like Finland. I think it’s good because you are oblige to speak English every days and it makes you better when you are in a other country. Thursday the 30 of April: This evening, all of pupils (French with Finnish students) were met in a small house (normally aimed at camping but here it was for a small party) near to the sea. We danced and played games, it was very sympatic.

  4. Friday the 1 of May: It was the best moment, for me, in the travel: The Spa Eden in Oulu. Be in the same room with two French friends and go to the spa and the swimming pool was very amazing. We had laughed a lot and all of this day and this evening were perfect. Moreover, the view on the sea ice was magical. Saturday the 2 of May: My favorite moments, this saturday, were the visit to the Northern Ostrobothnia museum and the fast food. I believed that visit would be boring but it wasn’t because we could see and walk where we want and we wasn’t obliged to listen someone. After the visit, we bought some sweets and the lunch was very good: Mc Donald's. It remember us our country and we were happy to see it !

  5. Sunday the 3 of May: The best memory I have had this day were, of course, the floorballwhich is a popular sport in Finland ! It was very amazing to play a new sport and it looks like ice hockey. Monday the 4 of May: Except the cold, the moment I remember the best was the singing of the choir. Their voices were very beautiful and I liked it.

  6. Thursday the 6 of May: I rememberthe party at Majiu’s home. It was the last evening with French and Finnish pupils and no one wanted to think about the end of the travel. Wednesday the 7 of May: The last day in Finland : I liked the nostalgic and the moving evening with the teachers’s presents. I have seen for the last time my family and it was quite sad.

  7. Thursday the 7 of May: It was the departure for Oulu’s airport and the autobus were waiting. So much Finnish and French friends were sad and they were crying. It was a special moment because it was the first time I have seen so many people crying at the same time. It was the end.
