  3. Goals of This Class • Study selected topics in networking • Multimedia Applications • Wireless/mobile/sensor networking • QoS • Routing • P2P/LBS • Opportunistic routing • Complete a project on: • VoIP over wireless • Measurement-based routing in wireless networking

  4. Grading Policy • Class participation: 15% • You need 3 ★ for it. • Paper Presentation: 15% • One paper per student • Project: 70% • Core contribution: 20% • Idea/progress/final presentation: 20% • Report: 20%

  5. Project Prerequisite • It must have: • a new idea/cool implementation • wireless-LAN-based PDAs or laptops in its application

  6. Project Environment • PDAs • Sharp Zaurus SL-5500 • Embedded Linux (Embedix TM based on QT GUI) • No MIC/speaker, jacsk for MIC, headphone • 64MB SDRAM • Compact flash slot, SD/MMC card slot • 802.11b (WiFi) card • HP 5550
