  1. Business concept • Gemex shall be a natural part of an efficient belt transmission. • Gemex shall be synonymous with high competence, and technically simple and economically optimal solutions.

  2. Gemex gives highly efficient and easily maintained transmissions. Gemex consist of two main components: • An articulated bracket, on which the motor is mounted. • A hydraulic cylinder with mechanical locking, which regulates and fixes the position of the motor. The only tools needed are a hydraulic hand-pump with a manometer and a hammer for locking. Gemex guarantees best possible function of the belt transmission, correct rpm, long lifetime and optimal efficiency.

  3. Highest precision in the most simple way The operations that requires time and precision are taken care of at the initial installation. Then laser alignment tools are used together with calculated tensioning values from belt manufacturers in order to achieve optimum conditions for the belt drive. When belts are to be exchanged or tensioned, the results are always correctly repeated, no instruments or tables required. Gemex makes it easy to do a good job.

  4. The routine is as follows: • 1 Connect the pump and pump up pressure • 2 Unlock the cylinder with the hammer • 3 Open the pump valve to loosen the belts • 4 Put new belts on • 5 Pump up to indicated pressure • 6 Lock the cylinders • 7 Release pressure and disconnect pump

  11. What about the money? Availability: Shorter lifetime of components, often up to 5 times shorter, gives more frequent stops. With a downtime cost of 1000 EUR/h and 2 h or 0,5 h for service, the difference is more than 3000 EUR/year. In addition to this, the cost for components will be higher. Energy Efficiency: 5% reduced efficiency corresponds to an increase of 2650 EUR/year in energy cost (132kW, 8000h, 0,05 EUR/kW). Production: Poorly working transmissions can cause both reduced production and quality problems. 5% slip corresponds to 400h production loss every year. We have measured up to 29% slip during production. Cost? Other: Many of our customers tells that consumption of bearings have went down, and that vibrations have been reduced after Gemex installation. In addition to that, the risk for personal injuries is reduced. Cost?
