ISEMUN IV Morning Session
Opening Speech • Opening speeches should be 1 minute long • Gavel will be banged at 1:00 • Delegates will be told by the chair to conclude at 1:10 • Pay attention during speeches to identify possible allies. • Electronics are not allowed at the podium.
Lobbying • Delegates should listen to opening speeches to decide who to lobby with. • Lobbying should occur among delegates seeking similar solutions to an issue. • Delegates should lobby with people from various schools, as well as the delegates own school. • Lobbying is the process of merging resolutions
Merging Resolutions • Committee will be divided based on topics delegates have chosen to speak on • Allied countries should also work together (this is to simulate real world conflict, you shouldn’t be working with your enemy.) • After resolution has been merged, obtain a co-submitters sheet from chair (Co submitters are people who support your resolution. At least 6 are needed.) • All co-submitters must write a for speech for the resolution they signed.
