  8. Adverbial clauses Adverbial clauses can be used to express time, place, manner, contrast, condition, reason, purpose or result. Conjunctions such as when, where, how, although, if, since, because, in order that and so that can be used to lead the adverbial clauses.

  9. Read the following sentences and tell the function of each adverbial clause. 1. When you find an interesting book in a bookshop, don’t hesitate to buy it at once. (expressing time) 2. Where there is waste, there is pollution. (expressing place)
