  3. Begin entering the student’s information, then hit NEXT

  4. Choose the correct academic year

  5. The following screens will appear… For questions… Create a password…

  6. Begin to enter demographic information…

  7. Enter Student Eligibility…

  8. High School Search College Search

  9. The next 13 questions determines dependency status… Once dependency status is determined, you will be given option to add parental data…

  10. Parental demographic information is similar to students…

  11. Will be asked if you completed your 2010 IRS income tax return. If completed, you will be given an opportunity to link your IRS data with the FAFSA using your FAFSA PIN. You have an opportunity to apply for a PIN at this point and use the same PIN to sign the FAFSA electronically. If you do not wish to link the data, skip this option…

  12. Please note Help and Hints Box Depending on which IRS form you completed, the Help and Hints box will let you know which line to look at for your data

  13. If you check on one of the boxes under additional information, you will be given another box to input the answer

  14. You will answer questions regarding the student’s tax information next… Make sure you pay close attention to the bar that lets you know that you are in student’s or parent’s mode…

  15. Both Student and Parent are ready to sign the FAFSA using their PIN number…and submit the FAFSA

  16. You will receive a confirmation page once application is submitted…
