  15. Australian Government Project • 2002-2004 • “Research to Support Export of Australian Expertise in Land Administration and Marine Cadastre” • in cooperation with • PCGIAP-WG 3 (Cadastre)

  16. This Project aims to gain an improved understanding of cadastre and use of ICT in the development of both land and marine cadastres together with a strengthening of the business and academic networks between Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

  17. To undertake research into the development of cadastral systems and the use of appropriate ICT and organizing two international workshops, one on benchmarking cadastral systems and one on marine administration. Project Aims

  20. Cadastral Template Workshop July 2003, Okinawa-Japan Working Group 3 met for two days in Okinawa, to discuss Cadastral template to respond to Resolution #8 adopted by the 8th PCGIAP meeting, 2001. 45 delegates from25 countries participated.

  21. Cadastral Template website is currently maintained and run by the Centre for SDIs and Land Administration, the University of Melbourne. So far, 35 countryreports on cadastral systems are uploaded to this website. The website will be maintained and updated on a continuous basis until 2006 under other funding arrangements and is thus available for permanent consultation. For easier visualisation, statistical data are also presented in graphical charts. Cadastral Template Project

  30. CRC-SI Project 3.1 Concepts and Principles for Virtual Australia Developing a Virtual Australiaby uniting research and commercial innovationin spatial information technologies

  31. The main aim of this project is to develop a preliminary set of concepts, functions and principles to facilitate the development of Virtual Australia based on CRC vision. As part of the first year of the project, a review and analysis of current SI and SDI initiatives is being undertaken, including related developments in selected jurisdictions (VIC, NSW, WA) and at national level. The research outcomes of this project will provide a foundation for identifying best practice and key performance indicators to aid in the integration of jurisdictions to facilitate the development of Virtual Australia.
