A few notes: 1. All forms need to be in by 5:30 on Friday12/6 (We will not accept late forms)2. Turn in one check per order form - no cash please! 3. Put your phone number, email, and school on the form, so we can let you know when the candy gets here and if there is an error. Order forms are attached to this email. Joke of the Month BUTTONS! We will be selling Red Cross buttons at the next Liaison meeting for the officers to sell. If your club is interested in buying some, we will be selling each button for 10 for $5 or 20 for $10. Please make sure to pass the word to the officer who will be attending the Liaison meeting. Join the Community Outreach Committee! We educate the community about how to stay safe during disasters such as earthquakes and fires in local health fairs. Come to our next meeting October 19th from 1:30-2:30pm at the Starbucks in Bay Club (10101 N Wolfe Rd)! Safekids: Are you interested in teaching about disaster preparedness and safety to children? You can gain leadership and communication skills through this opportunity. Join the Safe Kids Committee - you will be able to schedule and teach classes at different schools. Interested? Step 3: Start getting involved and signing up for events that you are interested in! YDAT (youth Disaster Action Team) Are you interested in helping local families after a disaster? YDAT is your chance to help respond to local disasters in the Santa Clara county. All YDAT members must be 16 or older and attend Client Casework on October 26 from 8am – 5pm at San Jose office. If you are interested joining YDAT, please email YouthServicesSVC@redcross.org to sign up for the 10/26 class and for more information. Veteran’s day Do you want the opportunity to show your pride for the Red Cross and showcase your patriotism? This year, the Silicon Valley Red Cross chapter will be part of the 93rd annual Veteran's Day Parade to be held in Downtown San Jose on November 11, 2013starting @ 11:00 AM.
