Assessment objectives • Students should be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in relation to: • scientific phenomena, facts, laws, definitions, concepts, theories; • Physics vocabulary, terminology, conventions including symbols, quantities and units • Scientific instruments and apparatus, including techniques of operation and aspects of safety • Physical quantities and their determination • Scientific and technological applications with their social, economic and environmental implications. .

Experimental Skills and Investigations • Students should be able to: • follow a sequence of instructions • select and use techniques, apparatus and materials; • make and record observations, measurements and estimates; • interpret and evaluate observations and experimental results; • plan investigations, select techniques, apparatus and materials; . • evaluate methods and suggest possible improvements.

SCHEME OF ASSESSMENT • Class test at the end of each chapter including reasoning questions accompanied with multiple choice questions • Arrange group discussion and let each student participate • Asking questions during the lecture • Encourage students to explain the concept in their own words • College exams at the end of each terms • Assignments should be given to be worked out at home.
