  2. Causes • Motion sickness is caused by being in a vehicle that is constantly moving with a relatively slow and prolonged motion, that the organ of balance in your inner ear may be affected.

  3. Symptoms • Motion sickness may cause a headache and may start to feel nauseous. • Other symptoms include dizziness, fatigue, and weakness. In severe cases, you may become very anxious, sweat or salivate a lot.

  4. Prevention • Try to avoid reading while traveling. • Sit in the front seat while in the car. • Keep your head still.

  5. Treatment • Medication prescribed by a doctor. • For other treatment prevention methods may be taught.

  6. Cures • There are no cures for motion sickness.

  7. Additional facts • Motion sickness is most common between ages 3 and 12. • Women also experience motion sickness more than men. • It occurs more often in women during menstrual cycles and pregnancy.
