Dog Walker Don Mills We get a lot of requests for “Dog Walker Don Mills” which is great as its right in our core service area and we know a lot about the territory in terms of places to walk dogs. Here are some of the best parks and trails to walk dogs in this part of Toronto. Don Mills has a lot of parks which are great for trail walks and private walks with the dogs, however; there are no off-leash dog parks that the city allow professional dog walkers to use. Closest dog parks that allow professional dog walkers are Sunnybrook Park, access from west side of Leslie Street through Wilket Creek park, Taylor Creek dog park, access from Don Mills Road in the valley north of O’Connor Drive. Moccasin Trail park is another great place to walk dogs, can be accessed from Moccasin trail which is connected to Green Belt Drive to the south and The Donway East to the north, also can be accessed from Charles Sauriol conservation area across the Don river. Moccasin offers gravel and dirt trails that the dogs can spend their time sniffing and exploring on leash. Their attention is sometimes alerted by the many water fowl that are present in the pond. From the parking area, Moccasin is connected by paved walking trail through the “Rainbow tunnel” across the Don river to Charles Sauriol conservation area, also known as the East Don Trail. Both the dogs and the walkers experience nature in all its glory on these trail walks throughout the four seasons. See the salmon swim up the river in the Autumn, the Great Blue Heron waiting patently to grab a fish with lightening speed throughout the Summer. The Ducks, Robins and many other birds and animals that brave the Canadian winters can still be seen through the long winter months. Bond Park has five baseball diamonds and tennis courts with lots of parking, can be accessed from the west off Leslie Street to Bond Avenue. Travelling from the east take Duncairn Road off The Donway West all the way into the Bond parking lot. Bond Park is connected to many parks and trails. The Don Mills Trail, also known as the Don Mills Leaside Spur trail, starts at York Mills and goes 7.7 kilometers to end just before Eglinton Avenue. Walking along the trail with your dogs, there are connections to other parks and roads that interwind throughout the park system. Talwood Park is one park that connects, walking west along Talwood park you will come to Leslie Street; across Leslie is Rippleton Park. You can walk your dogs around Bond park itself as there is plenty of green space for them to explore. When you get to the south east end of Bond park you will see the CN rail track that is in use for Go Trains and freight trains. The paved trail there takes
you into Duncairn Park, again a lovely park with lots to see and sniff (if you are a dog). Duncairn park connects to more parks, will talk about this later.
