Mrs. Cooper’s Class Spelling Words Language Arts Regular: light thought head under story burst strip just street distance least brother melt sum object Alternate: stampede strength instrument strategy strawberry throne arthritis squander difference evaporate Reading: Students should be bringing home a book in a bag, but also be reading chapter books. Please talk with your child about what they are reading and ask them about “good fit” books. Writing :Narrative writing Grammar: Subject Verb Agreement Teacher Notes Math After School Clubs: Information went home about the clubs last week. Registration Deadline for clubs is Thursday, Sept. 12. Spots are filled on a first come-first serve basis. Several are already full. Interim Assessments will be given Tuesday, September 10 and Wednesday, September 11. These are preassessments given by the county consisting of grade specific skills.. Estimating sums and differences, addition and subtraction, properties and strategies, error analysis. Data interpretation and graphing. Science/ S.S. Important Dates This week we will be starting our unit on Rocks and Minerals. September 9th- Picture Day! September 13th- PTA Movie Night! “The Croods” September 18th- Release/ Professional Development September 27th- BINGO NIGHT! Picture Day is Monday, Sept. 9th. Students will have pictures made for the yearbook. These are not prepaid pictures. You will get proofs of the pictures soon after they are taken, with an option to purchase.
