Welcome to Mrs. Robinson's 8th grade math class! With over 21 years of teaching experience, I am excited to guide your child through an engaging curriculum focused on linear algebra, the number system, geometry, and more! Students will have daily practice to build their skills, along with regular tests and quizzes to assess their understanding. I encourage parents to stay involved through our Parent Portal and communication. Let's ensure a successful year filled with learning and exploration in math!

  2. Mrs. Robinson • 21 years teaching; 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th • 9 years at Pueblo. • 1 Bachelors in Education from University of Wyoming • 1 Masters from Nova University • 2 certificates; Elementary Education K-6 Mathematics 7-12. • 3 sons • 1 husband • 1 chocolate lab

  3. Required Materials: • Scientific calculators • Pencil • Colored marker/pencil/highlighter for grading • Clear protractor or ruler • Composition notebook

  7. Old Standards • PO 4. Translate between different representations of linear equations using symbols, graphs, tables, or written descriptions.

  8. Common Core Standards • 8.F.4. Construct a function to model a linear relationship between two quantities. Determine the rate of change and initial value of the function from a description of a relationship or from two (x, y) values, including reading these from a table or from a graph. Interpret the rate of change and initial value of a linear function in terms of the situation it models, and in terms of its graph or a table of values.

  9. Assignments/Homework: • Math is a subject that requires daily practice to build and retain skills and knowledge. As such, your child will have an assignment daily, with the exception of test days. • (On a test day, there is no assignment or homework.)

  11. Tutoring here at PUEBLO: For help: • Before school EVERY DAY in the library. 7:45 – 8:30 • M, T, W, F in classroom 8:30 – 9:00 a.m

  12. Parent Portal (Center) Allows you to see Attendance, Grades, Calendar of Assignments, Email Addresses of Teachers, and Class Schedule.

  14. Grade notification: • I will need your help by staying actively involved in your child’s education. I will do my part to keep you informed through the use of: • Email (email form) • Phone calls • Online grades • Hard-copies of grades every 5th week of each term. • These hard copies will require your signature and to be returned to me the following day.
