Literature Evaluation Exercise: Worthy vs. Forgettable

In this class exercise, we will spend the first 5-7 minutes categorizing the literature we've studied into two groups: "Literature Worthy of Remembrance" and "Literature That Should Be Forgotten." Reflect on the pieces we've read and assign them to either category based on your genuine appreciation, providing justifications for your choices. This activity encourages critical thinking and personal engagement with the texts, allowing you to explore your own literary preferences and beliefs about their cultural significance.

  1. Making a List, Check it Twice As a warm up, take the first 5-7 minutes of class to go through the literature we have studied in this course and categorize it into 2 categories: “Literature worthy of Remembrance,” “Literature which will or should be forgotten.” Go back through this list and see what you “appreciate” and what you would rather were in a different place. Do not place a piece in one column or the other because of what you think I would say, you need to be able to justify the placement of each piece of literature.
