  2. Diwali festival Diwali is the festival of Lights. On this day, people worship the goddess Lakshmi. People decorate their houses and wear new clothes. They also exchange sweets. C hildren burst crackers. Festival of Holi The Festival of Holi is the celebration of colours. Holi is a spring festival, celebrated in the month of March.   3. C hristmas Christmas is celebrated as the birthday of J esus C hrist. It is celebrated on 25th December every year. C hurches are decorated beautifully. People decorate C hristmas trees and exchange gifts with loved ones. Gurupurab Gurupurab is celebrated to mark the birthdays of the ten Sikh Gurus.   4. Eid festival Eid is a festival that marks the end of the Ramzan. Ramzan is the holy month in which Muslims keep fast. On the day of the festival, Muslims gather in large groups at the mosques and offer their prayers or Namaz.   5. Dussehra festival This festival marks the victory of Lord Rama over the demon king Ravana. Dussehra is celebrated twenty days before Deepawali. Huge Effigies of Ravana, his brother Kumbhkaran and son Meghnatha are burnt on big grounds. It is also called the Vijay Dashmi. Pongal festival Pongal is a harvest festival celebrated in Tamil Nadu which lasts for three days. On the first day, people worship the rain god.   6. Oman Oman is the biggest harvest festival of Kerala. People wear new clothes and decorate their houses. Lasts for 10 days. Boat races are held and snake boat race is a special attrac tion. Ganesh C haturthi Ganesh Chaturthi is the festival devoted to the elephant god Ganesha.. This festival is celebrated in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
