TSS ACTIVITIES • Composite load Model Phase 1 in play in 2014 • Response to 08 Sept 2011 AZ to CA Outage • Relays, DPM Changes, WECC RAS/Ctg Definition • BCCS • Hope to have Base Cases created by BCCS in 2014. • Syntax description and documentation of Project File NEEDED ASAP • Training provided in 2013 and available in 2014 • Certification/de-certification Process of Study Software • Following MSRATF software requirement development March 2014

Response to AZ to CA Outage • Sharing of Contingencies and RAS files • Began in 2013 • WECC RAS/Contingency Format now exists • In one software…assistance needed in incentivizing fast development in other software • WECC v.s. Peak • Unclear on when data sharing pipeline will be established between WECC and Peak • Some data is at Peak and not WECC • Have perceived data security issues at WECC been addressed? • For RAS and Contingency files March 2014

AZ->CA Response: Ctg and RAS • WECC defined and approved a Ctg & RAS syntax • Issued a contract to a software supplier • Specs again are in the public domain • Software supplier delivered software for acceptance testing on 22 October 2013 • 1 out of 3 software programs has it coded presently • How can we get others to develop software? March 2014

MVWG ACTIVITIES • Updated Phase 2 Wind Type 3 Model Specifications Document • Phase 2 Wind Summary Specifications Document • Updates to the Approved Dynamics Model List • [MSRATF] Distance Relay Model Specifications • [MSRATF] Directional Overcurrent Relay Model Specifications (for the addition of the directional and load encroachment elements to overcurrent relays) March 2014

SRWG: Data Preparation Manual • Proposed amendments • The data preparation Manual will be amended to include the following additions under the dynamic data Requirements section of the DPM: • Line and Transformer Protection • Include line and transformer overcurrent protection models where approved models are available on BES transformers and transmission lines that have overload trip settings below 150% of their seasonal normal rating, or below 115% of the highest emergency rating • SPS Protection • Include SPS protection models where approved models are available including safety Nets, Wide Area Protection Systems (WAPS), Local Area Protection Systems (LAPS) and Remedial Action Schemes. March 2014
