The XT55 TCP/IP module, equipped with an ARM7 GPS part, facilitates seamless GPRS and TCP/IP connectivity. This guide covers hardware setup and the advanced functionalities of the XT55, including how to establish connections, send and receive data over TCP/IP, and manage settings stored in flash memory. The device auto-starts and connects once configured, allowing data from the local serial port to be packed into TCP packets for transmission to a remote server. Included are detailed IP commands for setup, configurations, and troubleshooting.

Hardware setup XT55 TCP/IP, 13.09.2014
Features • TCP/IP stack running on ARM7 of GPS part • IP commands to configure GPRS and TCP/IP • IP commands to connect XT55 TCP/IP to a server • Serial connection over TCP/IP • Open for higher protocols (e.g. HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, …) • Settings can be stored in the flash memory • Auto startup and connect function XT55 TCP/IP, 13.09.2014
Functionality • Once the device is configured and the GPRS connection established the XT55 goes automatically in data mode • In this mode all data that comes from the local serial port (SD1) are packed in TCP packages and transferred to the remote server • Incoming TCP-packages from the server are translated and transferred to the local serial port (SD1 - host CPU) • Once the GPRS and TCP/IP settings are stored (IP+W) and Auto-Start is enabled, the module will establish a connection to the server automatically XT55 TCP/IP, 13.09.2014
IP commands • IP+TIMEset / read the timeout for TCP/IP packets • IP+USERset / read the user name and password for the network access (GPRS) • IP+ECHO enable / disable echo mode for IP cmds. • IP+CONNestablishes a TCP/IP connection (ip,port) • IP+V read the current settings (GPRS,TCP/IP) • IP+W store the current settings (GPRS,TCP/IP) • IP+REF load factory settings for GPRS and TCP/IP XT55 TCP/IP, 13.09.2014
IP commands • IP+BAUD set the baud rate for SD1 (def. 56kbit) • IP+ABAUD test the connection between the modules • IP+CPIN set the SIM PIN • IP+SADDR set / read server IP and port • IP+APN set / read Access Point Name • IP+CALL set / read the dialling number of provider • IP+REQQ set / read quality of service requested XT55 TCP/IP, 13.09.2014
IP commands • IP+MINQ set / read quality of service minimum • IP+GPRS attach / detach the module to GPRS • IP+AUTO enable / disable auto connect after start up • IP+HELP list all IP commands • IP+DEBUG enable / disable debug display • IP+RESET reset the module XT55 TCP/IP, 13.09.2014
