  1. Release from Principalityof Bitterness Teaching By Paul Kaldrovics Based on Book by Art Mathias Biblical Foundations of Freedom: Destroying Satan’s Lies With God’s Truth

  2. The Armor of the Strongman • The Strongman is the Principality of Bitterness • In the name of Jesus we have the power and authority to strip the Strongman of his armor • The armor of the Bitterness Strongman consists of the following lesser spirits • Unforgiveness, resentment, retaliation, anger, hatred, violence, and murder (hate filled speech that kills one’s spirit) Luke 11: 21-22 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.” Mark 16: 17-18 “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

  3. Bitterness Ping Pong • Encountering a Person with Bitterness • You accuse another of having a spiritual problem but excuse the same problem in yourself – it becomes mine against theirs • Unforgiveness says “No, your not going to forgive them, you don’t need to forgive them” • Resentment says “I don’t like her and I don’t trust her either” • Retaliation says “I’m going to make her pay for what she said” • Anger says “Yeah, and I’m going to tell her what I think to get even and hit her where it hurts” Romans 2: 1 “Well,' you may be saying,' what terrible people you have been talking about!’ But wait a minute! You are just as bad. When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are talking about yourselves, for you do these very same things.” John 8: 44 “For you are the children of your father the devil and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning and a hater of truth--there is not an iota of truth in him. When he lies, it is perfectly normal; for he is the father of liars.”

  4. The Seven Layers • Moving From Unforgiveness to Murder • Unforgiveness is like instant replay, replaying the words, voices, sights and sounds of wrong events from our past • Resentment constantly reminds us of past events, seeking to stir up negative sentiments that stew and ferment within us • We progress with retaliation which makes us want to get even and make the other person pay • So far things can be kept unspoken but when we get to anger and wrath then we give it a voice and action with hate filled speech and verbal abuse Mathew 18: 21 “Then Peter came to Him and said, ‘Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” Proverbs 24: 29 “Don't testify spitefully against an innocent neighbor. Why lie about him? Don't say, ``Now I can pay him back for all his meanness to me!” Ephesians 4: 26-27 “If you are angry, don't sin by nursing your grudge. Don't let the sun go down with you still angry--get over it quickly; for when you are angry you give a mighty foothold to the devil.”

  5. The Seven Layers • Moving From Unforgiveness to Murder • Hatred starts a process of elimination and wants to get rid of the other person since we hate their guts • Violence is anger and hatred set into motion with our emotions erupting into physical or hate filled verbal attacks – physical, sexual, and verbal abuse result • Murder starts in the heart and murderous hate filled speech, driven by bitterness, kills a person’s Godly peaceful spirit 1 John 3: 15 “Anyone who hates his Christian brother is really a murderer at heart; and you know that no one wanting to murder has eternal life within.” Genesis 6: 11-13 “" The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.” John 8: 44 “For you are the children of your father the devil and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning and a hater of truth--there is not an iota of truth in him. When he lies, it is perfectly normal; for he is the father of liars.”

  6. Choose to Forgive • Bitterness Starts with Unforgiveness • It is imperative to forgive if we ever desire to be healed • Forgiveness is not about how we feel, it is what we choose to do • It is a matter of the will, so we either choose to forgive from our heart or not to forgive Matthew18:34-35 "And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him. So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses.''

  7. Pray of Release from the Principality of Bitterness • In the name of Jesus, I purpose and choose to forgive (the person) from my heart for (what they did). • In the name of Jesus, I cancel all their debts and obligations to me. • Lord, I ask You to forgive me for my bitterness toward (the person) in this situation.

  8. Pray of Release from the Principality of Bitterness • In the name of Jesus, and by the power of His blood, I cancel Satan’s authority over me in this memory because I have forgiven. • In the name of Jesus, I command that all the tormentors that have been assigned to me because of my unforgiveness to leave me, now.

  9. Pray of Release from the Principality of Bitterness • Holy Spirit, I invite you into my heart, and to heal me of this pain. Please speak your words of truth to me about this situation. • Pause quietly and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to your heart. Listen carefully for what He has to say about this release from accusing spirits. • Take home this Prayer of Release from Accusing Spirits sheet and continue to pray this until you are set completely FREE!
