  2. Science • 1st grade • Summary- The purpose of this Instructional PowerPoint is to help students learn about a butterfly life cycle. Given information on the slides and assigned websites, students will be able to answer questions pertaining to a butterfly life cycle. • Learning Objective- Given assigned websites and information and questions on the slides, students will be able to observe and describe the life cycle of a butterfly with 100% accuracy. • Standard- GLE 0107.4.1 Observe and illustrate the life cycle of animals. • Accomplishment: Students will be able to describe the life cycle of a butterfly.

Information/Instruction • Click on the link below to read information about a butterfly life cycle. http://www.kidsbutterfly.org/life-cycle • All butterflies have “complete metamorphosis.” • To grow into an adult, butterflies goes through four stages: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and adult butterfly. • Butterflies are the adult flying stage of certain insects belonging to an order or group called Lepidoptera.
