Procedure for Drawing ConclusionsFound on page 72 • Memorize theorems, definitions, and postulates • Look for key words and symbols in the given info. • Think of all the thms, defs, and posts that involve those keys • Decide which thm, def, or post allows you to draw a conclusion • Draw a conclusion, and give a reason to justify the conclusion. Be certain that you have not used the reverse of the reason.

  3. Go over problems in the notes As a class we will go over odds, then evens will be assigned as homework. For credit: You must rewrite the given and the diagram, along with your conclusion and reason!

  4. Number 1 Conclusion: <B is a right angle Reason: If two lines are perpendicular, then they intersect at right angles

  5. Number 3 Conclusion: Ray XZ is an angle bisector Reason: If a ray divides an angle into two congruent angles, it bisects the angle.

  6. Number 5 Conclusion: AE = EC Reason: If a point divides a segment into two congruent segments, it is the midpoint. WRONG!!! Reason: If a point is a midpoint, then it divides a segment into two congruent segments

  7. Number 7 Conclusion: <PQS and <RQS are supplementary Reason: If the sum of two angles is a straight angle, then they are supplementary.
