  2. The Preposition “de” • “De” is used to sho possession or relationship. • “De” mean “of” or “from” • Es el carro de Ernesto.- It is the car of Ernesto. • Son las amigos de la profesora. – They are the friends of the teacher.

  3. “De” • In addition, “de” can be used to indicate what type of thing you’re describing. • Los libros de aventuras- adventure books • Las películas de misterio- mystery movies

  4. “De” • The word “de” is also used to say where someone is from. • Julia es de Costa Rica.- Julia is from Costa Rica.

  5. “De” • The preposition “de” followed by “el” (the) marries together to make the contraction “del”. • (De + el = Del) *Used when you’re saying “of the…” • El telefono del profesor- The telephone number of the teacher.

  6. “De” • However when saying of the using “de” + la, las, or los….THEY DO NOT marry together. • El carro de la profesora- The car of the teacher. • Los carros de las profesoras- The cars of the teachers.
