  2. Chapter 8 • The Tucks tell Winnie their family secret. • The Tucks tell Winnie that they'll take her home as soon as possible. • Winnie realizes that the Tucks are her friends. • The weird man in the yellow suit heard the Tucks talk about their family secret.

  3. Chapter 9 • The Tuck’s bring Winnie to their home. • Winnie meets Angus Tuck. • The Tuck boys went swimming in their pond after they arrived at their house. • Winnie was very shy when she arrived at the Tuck’s house.

  4. Chapter 10 • Winnie learns that the Tuck’s don’t use their manners as much as Winnie’s family does. • Winnie notices that the Tuck’s don’t keep their house as clean as Winnie’s family does. • The boys were swimming in the pond, with their clothes on. • Mae said to Winnie that the boys aren’t at home very often.

  5. Chapter 11 • Winnie and the Tuck’s had a very delectable supper. • The Tuck’s ate in the parlor, but didn’t have to use napkins or tables. • Winnie announced that she wanted to go home. • Winnie told Mae that she knew the man in the yellow suit.

  6. Chapter 12 • Tuck takes Winnie out on the row boat to explain why they’re holding her captive. • Tuck and Winnie talk about life in general. • Someone stole the Tuck’s horse. • Tuck wants to change, to grow, to be different then he’s been in the past years.

  7. Chapter 13 • The man in the yellow suit tied the Tuck’s old horse to the bar of the Foster's fence. • The man in the yellow suit knocked on the Foster’s door, and Winnie’s grandmother answered. • The man in the yellow suit told Winnie’s grandmother he knew where Winnie was. • The man in the yellow suit asked to come into the Foster's home.

  8. Chapter 14 • Winnie couldn’t get to sleep. • Angus talked soothingly to Winnie in the middle of the night and quickly kissed her on the cheek. • The couch Winnie slept on was to lumpy and Winnie didn’t want to borrow May’s pajamas. • Jessie asked Winnie to drink the water from the spring when she turned 17.

  9. Chapter 15 • The man in the yellow suit said that he would tell the Foster’s where Winnie was if they gave him their forest. • The man in the yellow suit was wondering if he could cut a few trees down when the land was officially his. • The man in then yellow suit told the Fosters that the people that took Winnie were very rough looking.

  10. Chapter 16 • The man in the yellow suit was very courteous about getting Winnie back. • The constable thought that the man in the yellow suit was helping the kidnappers. • The constable took the Fosters and the man in the yellow suit on a 4 mile ride to show them where Winnie was.

  11. Chapter 17 • Winnie woke up very early an helped Miles catch fish for breakfast. • While Miles and Winnie were out on the pond, Winnie thought that the Tucks were going to take her home today. • Winnie thought that Miles was like a solid oar and Jessie was like water. • Miles didn’t go to school, but he wanted to do something very important one day.

  12. Chapter 18 • The Tucks and Winnie had flapjacks for breakfast because Winnie didn’t want Miles to kill the fish that they caught. • The Tuck’s decided that they would take Winnie home, even though they didn’t have a horse to ride there. • The man in the yellow suit arrived at the Tuck’s discreet house.

  13. Chapter 19 • The man in the yellow suit entered the Tuck’s sunlit parlor. • Mae admitted that the Tuck’s were planning on taking Winnie back to her house as soon as they could. • Miles’s old wife was the man in the yellow suit’s grandmother.

  14. Chapter 20 • Mae hits the man in the yellow suit with the stock of the gun. • The constable told the Tuck’s that they would go to the gallows to be hung if the man in the yellow suit died. • The constable takes Winnie back to her house and takes Mae to the jailhouse.

  15. Chapter 21 • Winnie arrives back at her house. • Winnie’s mother was weeping and her father was speechless when Winnie arrived home. • Winnie’s grandmother said that the elves bewitched her, and that’s why she ran away from home.

  16. Chapter 22 • The man in the yellow suit died. • Mae has to go to the gallows, but she will not die and her secret will be revealed. • Winnie went outside and saw her friend the toad, and tried to give him water, but before she could, the toad had hopped away.

  17. Chapter 23 • Winnie hid the sacred water in the table next to her bed. • Winnie was debating whether to go to the jailhouse or not. • Winnie restlessly watched her clock and counted the ticks that it made. • Winnie awoke after her nap. When she looked at the clock it was five minutes till midnight.

  18. Chapter 24 • Miles unscrewed the nails that were holding the bars in place at the jailhouse. • Winnie and Mae switched places at the jailhouse. • Before Winnie left for the jailhouse, she was debating whether to go or not to go. • When Winnie looked down after she was safely in the jail cell, her beloved Tucks were gone.

  19. Chapter 25 • The Tuck’s were nowhere to be found, and Winnie found this as a good thing. • Winnie did not sleep in the cell, for fear of the constable finding her instead of Mae kept her awake. • The gallows blew over in the wind. • The constable finds Winnie, but tells her that she cannot stay here, because she’s to young.

  20. Epilogue • Winnie’s house and all of Treegap was not like it used to be. • The Tuck’s come back looking for Winnie. • The Tuck’s find Winnie’s grave, and Jesse was devastated. • The Tuck’s see Winnie's frog on the side of the road.
