PARAPHRASE SUPPORTS(PUT IDEAS IN YOUR OWN WORDS) Direct Quote - Incorrect • “Unlike a human’s circulatory system, where oxygen-rich blood gets shuttled around the body within enclosed vessels, tarantulas have an open circulatory system.” Paraphrased - Correct • Tarantulas have an open circulatory system unlike a human’s circulatory system where the blood is enclosed in vessels.

  8. Be Sure to Provide 1 More TEXT BASED SUPPORT Than is Required. REASON If one support is inaccurate, the opportunity for two supports to be assessed is still available. SAMPLE SUPPORT #1– His situation reminded him of the horrible ordeal he had just escaped. Before he could even get to Oswego, he had to board a train which reminded him of his journey to captivity at one of the Nazi prison camps. *NOTE: Check to see that all three supports are different and not a reworded version of the previously stated support.

  9. USE TEXT-BASED SUPPORTS SUPPORT 2 – When he arrived in Oswego, it seemed like it was no better. He was greetedby barbed wire fencesand military personnel. SUPPORT 3 – Walter Greenburg commented, “I felt deceived. I felt that I should have been free. I mean I felt wonderful. I had doctors. I had nurses. I had food. I came to school. Oswegians were very kind…What good is it to have all the amenities of life if one still isn’t free?”
