  2. Memorial Day vs. Veterans Day • Many people confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Both holidays were established to recognize and honor the men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces.

  3. But Memorial Day, was originally set aside as a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country.

  4. When is Memorial Day observed? • Always observed on the last Monday in May.

  5. Memorial Day • A day for recognition and respect for Americans who have died in wars while they were serving our country.
