  2. Bribe • Money or other valuable items given to decision makers in an attempt to improperly influence a decision.

  3. Bribery • The act of giving money or other valuable items to decision makers in an attempt to improperly influence a decision.

  4. Business Ethics • The principles of right and wrong that should govern a firm’s behavior and decision making.

  5. Code of Ethics • A formal list of principles a firm agrees to follow.

  6. Corruption • Impairment of integrity, virtue, or moral principle.

  7. Ethical Dilemma • Issues that firms face caused by differences in host- and home- countries’ levels of economic development, political systems, and culture.

  8. Ethical Strategy • The plan of action a firm takes to ensure that it does not violate its code of business ethics.

  9. Ethics • The principles of right and wrong that should govern a person’s (or organization’s) behavior.

  10. Kickback • Money or other valuable items given to a decision maker to reward him for dishonestly misusing a discretionary power given by the company or government.

  11. Pay to Play • The unethical practice of giving money to an official in exchange for the privilege of participating.
