Full of love physical contact (hugging, patting,„wrestling” etc., satisfying the needs of a child, not of the adult!) 3. Exclusive, positive attention focused on a child (time spent together) 4. Loving upbringing (discipline that is full of love) – setting rules and boundries, enhancing intellectual and spiritual resources of a child Ross Campbell– „How to Really Love Your Child”

  8. Upbringing styles: Neglecting Despotic (authoritarian) Permissive (liberal) Authoritative – the right one

  9. Neglecting style Parents fail to devote their time and attention to a child, do not offer support, are busy with themselves, do not get involved in child’s problems, avoid bilateral communication (do not listen to a child). As a result, children suffer from low self confidence, have difficulties with focusing attention and learning, disobey their parents, are emotionally unstable and often aggressive.

  10. Despotic style (authoritarian) Parents consider the child to be their property – they rigorously control attitudes and behaviors of the child, so that they conform to their strict rules. This style is insensitive, focused on the parent, demanding, controlling. Obedience matters the most, and lack of obedienceresults in serious punishment. As a result, children are withdrawn, distrustful, shy, have low self esteem, suffer from anger, lack the joy of lifeand spontaneity, might be aggressive, disobedient, rebelious.

  11. Permissive style Parents allow the child to do whatever it wants – they do not teach any rules, state no boundaries and have no demands nor expectations, do not control child’s behavior. As a result, the child is immature, cannot control impulses, often behaves like a small tyrant, obeys no rules, lacks social skills like kindness and responsibility, but also has no support in parents or in true values.

  12. Authoritative style Parents are loving and demanding – they define permanent, realistic rules and behavior standards in the family. They abide by such standards themselves, show respect towards their children, expect them to behave accordingly to their age and ability, respect their opinions, are patient, explain their decisions. This type of upbringing is accepting, sensitive, focused on a child (its feeling, needs, abilities), but at the same time it is consistent, demanding and reasonably controlling. The child has the feeling of security and predictability, is calm, joyful, spontaneous, social, empathic, assertive, cooperates with parents, is satisfied and self confident.

  13. THE AUTHORITATIVE STYLEIS THE BEST UPBRINGING STYLE, RELYING ON THE GOLDEN PRINCIPLE: LOVE, SUPPORT AND DEMAND
