  8. 1984 • The family moved to Corpus Christi. • Selena recorded her first album called “Selena Y Los Dinos” which was on the Freddie Label. • One hit song was “Ya Se Va”. • The album did not sell very well so Selena’s brother Abraham moved the band from the Freddie Label to Cara Records. http://www.selenaforever.com

  12. 1987-1989 • Selena sold three other albums. • Jose Behar, who was the president of EMI Latin, saw her performance and signed her a contract. • This is when Selena released her first album as just Selena and not Selena Y Los Dinos. • She also became a spokesperson for coca cola. http://www.selenaforever.com

  14. 1992-1994 • Selena married Chris Perez who was the lead guitarist for her brother’s band, Los Dinos. • She won a grammy for Best Mexican-American performance. • Her album Amor Prohibido was then nominated for another grammy. http://www.selenaforever.com

  16. 1995 • Selena fired Yolanda ,the manager of her boutiques who was also the president of her fan club, for stealing money. • On March 31st Selena and Yolanda got into a fight. • Yolanda pulled out a gun and shot Selena in the back. • Selena was pronounced dead at the age of 23. http://www.selenaforever.com
