  1. breathe easier live better air purification solutions using advanced PCO technology

  2. why nautic air® • scalable to integrate with existing HVAC systems or can be designed as stand-alone unit • field and laboratory tested • ease of installation • patent pending technology • emits no ozone • low maintenance costs • green • aluminum or stainless steel construction • designed and manufactured in the USA

  3. nautic air® vs other air cleaners • Testing proves NA with its patent-pending, PCO technology is the strongest system on the market today • NA eliminates 99.7% of bacteria and viruses down to .0001 microns in size (odors and VOCs fall in this range). Most other systems can only eliminate contaminants down to .01 microns. • The technology in NA units is 3000 times stronger than HEPA filtration without the costly and time-consuming filter maintenance and replacement • 1½ times more powerful than ozone, but no dangerous off-gassing

  4. nautic air® vs other air cleaners • Not all TiO2 (Titanium Dioxide) is the same. The superior grade of TiO2 used by NA is a significant factor in the industry leading test results and kill rates. • The TiO2 used in NA technology is third-party certified green and food grade (the purest) • Just as the grade of TiO2 matters, so does the application method. NA products are manufactured using a patent-pending, three-stage application to ensure permanent adhesion and maximum reactivity

  5. nautic air® vs other air cleaners • Our UV light is safe and has proven to be the most effective at creating photo catalytic reaction. • UV light used in the NA systems is very specific and provides the optimal nanometer wave-length for maximum effectiveness. • NA UV light will not cause plastic or rubber deterioration like other types of light bulbs • NA light bulbs are safe - not the UVC bulbs used by many competitors which emit low levels of ozone and are harmful if exposed to the eyes • NA has put over 4 years into R & D as well as proven its effectiveness in both the field and laboratory.

  6. nautic air® vs other air cleaners • NA is the top performer, yet is competitively priced • NA honeycomb is washable unlike expensive filters which must be replaced • NA’s Advisory Board is made up of prominent manufacturing CEOs, electrical engineers, mold remediation specialist, microorganism testing protocol specialist, health professional, and HVAC engineers. PCO technology and air purification is what we do.

  7. nautic air® compared to other filtration systems

  8. nautic air® is tested and proven to remove: • toxic volatile organic compounds • formaldehyde • carbon monoxide • diesel and gasoline fumes and exhaust • allergens • mold spores • offensive odors • body odors • restrooms • heavy perfumes • bacteria • viruses

  9. nautic air® tested against the toughest bacteria - bacillus subtilis • “gold-standard” tested • used and/or accepted by DOD, EPA, FDA, USDA, and CDC • In the case of the DOD, they want to validate the effectiveness of counter bioterrorism technologies against weaponized biological agents. Further requirements are that these validations be performed “in situ”, rather than under mimicked laboratory conditions. In order to accomplish this, they have utilized a variety of sentinel biological organisms, which are highly resistant to the wide range of purification treatments utilized (i.e. steam (thermal), ethylene oxide, vaporized hydrogen peroxide, or radiation) The conventional accepted by wisdom is that, if one can evidence the kill of a highly resistant spore forming organism in an environment, then all less resistant organisms in that environment will be assumed destroyed as well. Besides demonstrating an unusual degree of resistance they are also harmless to humans, so they can be used in any environment without danger to products, personnel or employees. • Testing conducted by “Hygiene Assurance Group” – Stuart, Florida

  10. RESULTS: nautic air® vs. bacillus subtillis

  11. nautic air® can limit the spread of airborne infections (including biohazards) • NA’s technology has an unbelievable 99.7% kill rate on the highly resistant, spore forming Bacillus Subtilis– which is tougher and more difficult to destroy than anthrax • means that more than 99% of less resistant viruses and bacterias could be eliminated when exposed to the same process including : • airborne C. difficile • TB • the whole family of Influenza A viruses including H1N1 • anthrax • colds • MRSA

  12. nautic air® - effects on formaldehyde

  13. nautic air® - mold tests on 160ft megayacht

  14. what is Photo Catalytic Oxidation (PCO)? • PCO is a technology that accelerates the natural decomposition of organic matter.  • Discovered in Japan in 1969 by two professors at Tokyo University • PCO technology is powerful, effective on all organic contaminants, and completely green.

  15. photo catalytic oxidation (PCO) technology • PCO technology uses a light source to react with a titanium dioxide-based catalyst (a catalyst is a substance that can speed up a chemical reaction without being used up itself), in the presence of water • This reaction creates hydroxyl radicals and super-oxide ions oxidizers that convert harmful microorganisms and chemicals that are constantly circulating through the air into harmless CO2 and H2O (water). How it works:

  16. photo catalytic oxidation (PCO) technology • these oxidizers, or hydroxyl radicals, are second in power only to fluorine and are four times stronger than 100% chlorine in its oxidative power (Its ability to break up organic molecules).  • it is 1 and ½ times more powerful than ozone – without the harmful off-gassing from ozone.  • these hydroxyl radicals generated in the photo catalytic process act like Pac-men – to actively and continuously attack and break up any and all organic molecules in proximity.   The process happens in billionths of a second and continues to happen as long as light, water vapor, and TiO2 are present.  The TiO2 is never used up – it just serves as the catalyst for the reaction.

  17. nautic air® is safe • These aggressive oxidizers, especially hydroxyl radicals, have a very short half-life in air (billionths of a second): they defy measurement by precision laboratory techniques. • Because of this extremely short half-life – the powerful hydroxyl radicals only exist inside the nautic air ® chamber – • The powerful oxidizers do not float through the air - wafting from area to area like ozone can (ozone should never be used in occupied areas), with its half-life in air measured in days. • Free radical oxidizers do not persist long enough to travel through air away from the catalyst surface. Consumers will not be exposed to superoxide ions and hydroxyl radicals. • Cannot build up in closed areas.

  18. nautic air® vs other air cleaners • Our PCO technology and design has proven itself in some of the toughest environments, including • nursing homes • embalming rooms/funeral homes • enclosed yachts • mega yachts • industrial welding shop • homes and offices

  19. November 8, 2010 • Excerpt: “U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin nudged the transit agency to find ways to clear the air in Chicago’s soot-choked rail stations and inside the train cars that carry commuters. Prompted by a Tribune investigation, the Illinois Democrat called for a federal probe of noxious diesel pollution that more than a quarter of a million people breathe every weekday while commuting through Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center. more…..

  20. Durbin's push to get federal environmental watchdogs involved comes as Metra scrambles to figure out how it can improve ventilation on its trains and inside the crowded commuter stations. The transit agency is holding a meeting Tuesday with federal, state and local officials to discuss options. "We want to make sure we have a thorough, complete investigation to determine the danger to people on these trains and in these stations," Durbin, the assistant Senate majority leader, said during a news conference at the Ogilvie center. more…..

  21. "Let's check the ventilation systems on the trains. Let's look at these buildings.” Levels of the lung- and heart-damaging pollution are higher on platforms, where commuters can literally see the air they are breathing while leaving downtown. It gets dramatically worse, not better, after boarding a train. As the doors close and the locomotive pulls out of the station, Tribune testing found, the air trapped inside the stainless-steel cars contains levels of diesel soot up to 72 times higher than on the streets outside. more…..

  22. Cleaning up passenger locomotives, Durbin said, would offset future health care costs and "the misery that a lot of people will suffer if we don't change.” In a statement, the EPA said it shares Durbin's concerns and "will reach out to Metra to discuss opportunities to address indoor air quality.” source: http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2010/11/durbin-urges-epa-probe-air-quality-of-citys-rail-stations.html

  23. nautic air® offers options • nautic air® is scalable to virtually any application – the opportunities are limitless • the scalability makes nautic air® the solution for not only new builds, but also retro fits. • HVAC units with polarized media for train stations • commuter and charter buses • marine applications • military vehicles and bases • first responder vehicles • virtually anywhere cleaner, healthier air is needed
