Historical Context • Xia Dynasty – first to the ruled China, 2100 BC to 1600 BC • Shang Dynasty – ruled for 700 years • Zhou Dynasty – til the end of China’s Bronze Age • Western Zhou – 1045-770 BC • Spring Autumn Period – 770 – 476 BC • Warring State – 476- 221 BC • Qin Dynasty – conquered all the States. It was the shortest period of time, ruled for 15 years.
