Properties of Eye System (cont.) • accomodation • adjust the focus by changing the lens curvature. • Eye measure the amount of “blur”. • Accomodation does not occur in the graphic scene. • Eye의 근육이 이완되어 있는 상태에서는 depth of field가 6 m ~ 무한대이므로 다른 노력 없이 in-focus 가능. • 동공의 지름 = 8 mm: depth of field = 6m – 무한대 • 동공의 지름 = 4 mm: depth of field = 3.5m – 무한대 • 동공의 지름 = 2 mm: depth of field = 2.3m - 무한대 • 물체가 6m이내에 들어오면 focus를 맞추기 위해 근육을 수축하여 렌즈의 곡률을 변화시킴. • 물체까지의 거리가 1m 일 때: • 동공의 지름 = 4 mm: depth of field = 0.8m - 1.4m • 동공의 지름 = 2 mm: depth of field = 0.7m - 1.8m

Cone보다 약 100배 sensitive함. • 따라서, 어두운 곳에서는 • Color perception이 잘 안됨 • 붉은 색보다는 푸른색이 눈에 잘 띔 • Resolution이 떨어짐
