  41. Education With our 3 year replacement cycle we were replacing half the district’s computers every 3 years. But, because of a previous grant, with this cycle we needed to replace 800 units, rather than the 500 for which we had budget. By implementing VDI with FabricCache acceleration, we actually covered 1000 computers by prolonging the life cycle of the computers that we have. Plus, we can use lower cost units or zero client in the future. We even put some 11 year old computers back into service and with VDI and FabricCache even those systems are running fine. John Frye, Director of Technology Titusville Area School District Titusville Area School District is a small, rural public school district located in Titusville, Pennsylvania. Environment / Applications • VDI is the killer app for K-12 • VMware ESXi and Horizon View • Critical to address reboots between classes (boot storms) • Useful life of client PCs doubled • 50% less SAN equipment required* • Lower power, space and cooling requirements 50% less SAN equipment required for VDI environment * FabricCache vs. HDD solution

  42. Email Marketing At Constant Contact, we are continually looking for solutions that improve the speed, performance, and reliability of our technology infrastructure The beta test of Mt. Rainier proved very capable in meeting those needs, providing us with the ability to scale our infrastructure to meet the growing needs of our customer base without sacrificing a seamless user experience. Stefan Piesche, Chief Technology Officer Constant Contact is an online marketing company offering email, social media, & event marketing, online survey, digital storefronts, &local deals tools, primarily to small businesses, nonprofit organizations, & membership associations. Cache unfriendly environment Double the application I/O performance for Sendmail • Heavy write environment • Customer required increased I/O performance in Linux and SAN storage for small block transactional data Twice the transactions for primary business critical application

  43. Enterprise Cloud Computing Installation of the FabricCache10000 Series adapter was straightforward, simple and integrated seamlessly within our SAN infrastructure. The shared caching capability enabled uninterrupted performance, during and after a failover, across our virtualized VMware clustered SQL environment, providing a rapid return on investment. Jason Reid, Chief Technology Officer Carrenza provides a range of infrastructure cloud services for customers to help them deliver core business applications and websites in the cloud. Microsoft SQL 2008 running on a VM • Non-cache Performance ~120MBps • Cache Performance ~350MBps 3x SQL Application Performance Gains Significant write performance gains • Offloading read demand on SAN target allowed more dedicated write cycles Triple the performance for MS SQL Server in a clustered VMware environment

  44. IT Technology Development The lack of complexity you have to deal with in deploying FabricCache and the savings on power, space and cooling derived from consolidating our 5 SQL clusters down to 1 is very compelling. Steve Nichols, Director IT QLogic QLogic is a global leader and technology innovator in high-performance server and storage networking connectivity and application acceleration solutions Environment / Applications • Clustered SQL 2012 environment • 10x OLTP random read improvement • Reduced # of clusters from 5 to 1 5:1 Infrastructure Consolidation and 10x OLTP Improvement SQLIO Benchmarking tool
