Certain persons are totally barred from accepting Foreign Contributions - • Political Parties, candidates, MLAs etc. • Journalists, Owners, editors of newspapers • Judges, Government Servants • Companies engaged in mass communication (TV etc) Ashit Hegde
Registration with Central Govt. - • No person having a definite cultural, economic, educational, religious or social program shall accept foreign contribution without registration. Use of funds - • The funds have to be used only for the purpose for which contribution were received. The funds have to be received in the designated account only and no other funds can be credited to this account. Ashit Hegde
Reporting - • To report details within 30 days of cases where F.C were received but without registration • All transactions aggr. Rs.1 Crore during a period of 30 days to be reported within 30 days. From Nov 1, 2013 online reporting of all receipts to Ministry of Home Affairs. (RBI cir dated Sept 20,2013) Ashit Hegde
