  2. We are learning about WORLD MUSIC. Contact Miss Petry if you have songs or dances from your culture that you would be willing to share with our class.

Get involved with our World Music Units! • Share your cultural heritage with your students. • Volunteer to come share a song or dance from your culture with your students’ music class. • Get involved with the PTA and help make this Culture Fair amazing by sharing your cultural knowledge with our IVE family. • Bring your family to the Culture Fair-February 6th

  4. Other Ways to Get Involved: Instrument Families Unit All grade levels learn about instrument families in the Spring. • Do you play an instrument? Would you be willing to come in and demonstrate how your instrument works? Or play for a few music classes?

  5. Other Ways to Get Involved: Musical Genres Unit • Do you have a favorite style of music? Would you like to come in and share your love of opera, jazz, blues, folk, ethnic, rock or country music? • Are you an opera singer? • Do youplay in a band? • Have other ideas? Let me know.

  10. Recorder Programfor 4th and 5th Graders Recorder Units 4th Grade begins 10/1 5th Grade begins in late Jan./early Feb. Materials needed by start date Information sheets are outside the music room, on the Music website, or on papers on the back table in English and Spanish

  11. Recorder Programfor 5th Graders 5th Grade Unit builds on Fourth Grade learning. Short Unit – Trios, composing on the recorder, advanced belts. Special Sessions for students who would like extra help or new fifth grades who haven’t played before will be offered in October and November– Sign up in back or contact Miss Petry.
