  1. Sango Elementary Monday, November 15, 2011 Reading Our story this week is “Shutting Out the Sky.” The reading skill is cause and effect. The vocabulary words are: immigrants, circumstances, newcomer, advised, peddler, hustled, elbow, advice, luxury. Test Monday, November 21. Language Arts Review plural and possessive nouns. We will also edit previous writings. Math Students will continue long division. They will use a calculator to help them with the process when there is a two digit divisor. Students will divide with decimals and interpret remainders. Test Friday. Math Superstars lesson VI is Tuesday and lesson VII is due by Tuesday, November 23rd. Science Students will finish studying 1. Mass, force, and distance, 2. Conduction, convection, and radiation, and 3. Potential and kinetic energy. Test on Friday. Social Studies I will be sending home your child’s assigned day to present their project. Please have them practice their presentation several times. Remember the time limit is 2 minutes, they must have some kind of visual and they will present as if they are the person (which means they will speak in 1st person). Words that have contractions from our story ”Shutting Out the Sky.” Test Friday!
