The Technical Assistance to Brownfields (TAB) program, funded by the EPA, offers free resources to communities for redeveloping brownfields. Affiliated with the Midwest Hazardous Substance Research Center, Kansas State University provides tailored assistance in Indiana and other Region 5 & 7 states. Services may include reviewing grant applications, project plans, and community outreach initiatives, coordinated through local project managers. Communities are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis based on staff and funding availability.

Technical Assistance to Brownfield (TAB) Communities • A national program • Funded by EPA headquarters via grants to 5 different Hazardous Substances Research Centers; free to communities • K-State is affiliated with the Midwest HSRC and assists communities in Indiana and other EPA Region 5 & 7 states
TAB Assistance to Communities • Tailored to specific needs • Typically coordinated through the city, tribal or non-profit brownfields project manager • May include: • Review of EPA grant applications • Help finding a consulting firm • Review of project plans, technical reports • Assistance with community outreach • Other assistance, as needed and agreed upon • Communities accepted on a ‘first come’ basis. • Depends on staff/funding availability
